The Mission of the Beijing Advanced Speakers Club is:
“To provide a supportive and positive learning environment in which every member receives the opportunity to deliver manual projects and receive additional constructive feedback from other Advanced Members so they can further improve their communication skills and as a leader then share this with their members of their home club.”
Anyone interested in learning how to become a member of our club should go to our Membership page for information on joining the club.
The club meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 3 - 5 PM at the Motorola WangJing Campus. Click here for map to meeting location.
Members give project speeches to complete their Competent Communicator award or from any of the Advanced Communications manuals. Some of these Advanced projects require more time than is available in a normal club's meeting schedule (projects vary in length from as little as three minutes to over forty minutes in length), the Advanced Speakers Club offers the members working in these manuals a venue to deliver the longer projects.
Additionally, effective evaluations of Advanced members requires more time than can be allotted in most regular club meetings, so the Advanced Club uses longer evaluations for projects that are based upon the time guidelines of the speech -- some evaluations are as long as ten minutes. Speakers are also provided with an detailed evaluation form from every member that attends the meeting and all speeches and evaluations are video taped so that the member can receive as much feedback on their presentation as possible.
Membership in the club is open to all current Toastmaster members and to New Members (that complete the membership audition process). For more information on our membership criteria, please go to the Membership page of this web site.
Guests from other Toastmasters Clubs are always welcome at our meetings. However, guests are not allowed to give presentations in the club, but may participate in other meeting roles that become available.
