About the Beijing Advanced Speakers Club

The Beijing Advanced Speakers Club was founded in March 2007 as the first Advanced Speakers Toastmasters Club in the People's Republic of China.  Membership in the club is drawn from the Clubs in Beijing and other cities in China.  The club meets every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 3 - 5 pm at the Motorola Wang Jing Campus

Members may give project speeches to complete their Competent  Communicator award or from any of the Advanced Communications manuals.  As some of these projects require more time than is available in a normal club's meeting schedule (projects vary in length fro as little as three minutes to over forty minutes in length), the Advanced Speakers Club offers the members working in these manuals a venue to deliver the longer projects.  Effective evaluations of Advanced projects requires more time than can be allotted in a normal meeting, the Advanced Club uses longer evaluations for projects that are based upon the time guidelines of the speech -- some as long as ten minutes.  Each speaker is also provided with an detailed evaluation form from every member that attends the meeting and all speeches and evaluations are video taped so that the member can receive as much feedback on their presentation as possible.

Membership in the club is open to all current Toastmaster members and to New Members (that complete the membership audition process).  For more information on becoming a member of the club, please go to the Membership page of this website.

Guests from other Toastmasters Clubs are always welcome at our meetings.  However, due to the limited number of meetings per year for the club, guests are not allowed to give presentations in the club.

The Mission of All Toastmasters Clubs

To provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

The Mission of Beijing Advanced Toastmaster Club

To provide a supportive and positive learning environment in which every member receives the opportunity to deliver Advanced Manual projects and receive additional constructive feedback from other Advanced Members so they can further improve their communication skills and then share this with their members of their home club.
